Dainzu Oaxaca

It is an ancient contemporary city of Monte Albán whose flourishing predated the founding of the metropolis of Los Valles.

This small archaeological site has a world-renowned wall with bas-relief stone carvings of ball players in full attire in full action, as well four figures that probably represent of the four gods of fire.

Dainzu Oaxaca

The archaeological site of Dainzú is located in the vicinity of a tributary of the Salado river, in the Tlacolula valley, although there are some terraces and petroglyphs traced in the rocks of a nearby hill.

How to get:
Dainzú is 20 kilometers from Oaxaca City, just off Federal Highway 190 heading toward Tehuantepec.
